About The Role

As a People & Culture Assistant, you are a core part of the UK People & Culture team. You know our systems well and can put your finger on information when needed. You are responsive and can answer our people’s questions in an efficient, accurate and timely manner. You’ll need to be engaged and proactive with our systems and processes, focusing on continuous improvement. Energized by problem solving and passionate about developing long-term solutions, you will thrive in a busy environment and can work through workload quickly. Ideally, you will have some experience advising on topics such as absence, flexible working requests, and less complex performance issues. You will enjoy engaging with your team and developing your skills.

Your responsibilities include:

  1. Managing queries received via HR inboxes and ticketing systems, demonstrating multi-tasking abilities and working efficiently across multiple communication channels.
  2. Becoming a super user of our systems, self-learning and developing your knowledge on the job.
  3. Providing data to colleagues, people leaders, and the wider People & Culture team as needed.
  4. Overseeing UK’s absence processes, including maternity, paternity, and other leave types, and communicating proactively with managers and colleagues.
  5. Providing 1st line HR support to UK-based colleagues for less complex queries.
  6. Being a visible and approachable member of the organization, engaging with colleagues regularly.
  7. Supporting process improvements and working on key projects.

About You

We seek a collaborative team player with excellent relationship-building and people skills. You should be intuitive, thrive in a busy environment, and be a natural problem solver. The ideal candidate is adaptable, able to pivot quickly as the business evolves, and has previous experience in a busy HR role, possibly within retail or a global organization. Knowledge of HR processes and systems, attention to detail, and strong time management are essential. Ability to travel to UK offices in London, Manchester, and Edinburgh as needed. This is a part-time (4 days/week), fixed-term contract for 3 months, with potential extension.
