Job summary

We are Lenovo! We are hiring an HPC System Administrator in London to support mixed on-site and remote customer environments.

You will manage data-center infrastructure, perform firmware upgrades and software patches, and troubleshoot complex HPC stacks including Slurm, PBS Pro, Confluent, and storage systems. The role requires strong scripting with Ansible/Bash/Python, knowledge of GPFS, InfiniBand and RDMA, and experience with GitLab/GitOps for automation.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with HPC tools and schedulers Slurm and PBS Pro, and Confluent.
• Scripting and automation with Ansible, Bash and Python.
• Experience with distributed storage/file systems GPFS, Weka, DDN, NFS, SMB.
• Knowledge of InfiniBand, RDMA, ROCE networking.
• Experience with version control/automation GitLab, GitOps.
• Strong system administration, monitoring, security patching background.
• Hardware/infrastructure expertise incl server, storage, networking; OS deployment and firmware upgrades.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, maintain and manage physical data center infrastructure for reliability and security.
• Monitor power, cooling and network connectivity; respond to alerts and perform preventive maintenance.
• Upgrade firmware and software, roll out patches and minimize downtime.
• Perform OS/software upgrades and troubleshoot to ensure data availability.
• Develop, test and implement changes to resolve errors; provide preventive maintenance.
• Test software/firmware fixes and security patches; diagnose and isolate defects.
