Job summary

Wealden District Council in Wealden is seeking a housing management focused role to deliver customer-focused tenancy services across the district, including letting homes, tenancy sign-ups and inspections. You will engage with residents, uphold tenancy rights, and collaborate with contractors to maintain high service standards.

The role requires strong communication, empathy, and the ability to work independently in a busy team, with hybrid working and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Experience in social housing management.
• Experience interviewing members of the public.
• Knowledge of housing legislation or similar.
• Knowledge of anti-social behaviour legislation.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out pre-void inspections and coordinating with colleagues and contractors to re-let homes quickly and efficiently.
• Conducting tenancy sign-ups and helping tenants understand rights and responsibilities.
• Undertaking a range of tenancy visits and inspections.
• Working with residents and partner agencies to create safer neighbourhoods and address anti-social behaviour.
• Supporting and promoting tenant participation and community influence on services.
• Managing tenancy changes, mutual exchanges, successions and transfers.
• Identifying support needs and partnering with organisations to sustain tenancies.
• Carrying out estate inspections and identifying opportunities to improve neighbourhoods.
• Building positive relationships with residents, community groups and partner agencies.
