Job description

To provide intensive housing management support to vulnerable individuals, aiming to deliver a high-quality support programme that promotes client independence, successful and sustainable move-ons, and measurable outcomes. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established and expanding supported accommodation project in Sheffield that supports offenders or individuals at risk of offending.

Duties and Responsibilities
Housing Management
  1. Engage with referral agencies to generate referrals for the service.
  2. Undertake assessments for all potential and actual residents, reviewing and updating these as required.
  3. Complete documentation including tenancy agreements, property inventories, disclosure forms, and housing benefit applications to support and sustain tenancies.
  4. Maximise rent collection and ensure successful housing and welfare benefit claims are submitted and maintained.
Support
  1. Maintain contact with tenants in accordance with service requirements.
  2. Design and deliver effective support plans that meet tenants' needs and facilitate successful move-ons into independent living.
  3. Engage actively with tenants on issues and decisions affecting them.
  4. Develop professional relationships with external agencies supporting tenants' ongoing needs.
  5. Develop move-on plans early, identifying realistic options for independent or more suitable housing.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience supporting vulnerable people in a housing environment.
  • Experience working with individuals with complex needs, including in prison and on release.
  • Ability to develop constructive relationships with offenders.
  • Knowledge of the Welfare Benefits System.
  • Understanding of the UK Judiciary System.
  • Experience in risk assessment and support planning.
  • Basic IT skills suitable for an office environment.

Additional Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS check.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a road-worthy vehicle.
  • Right to work in the UK.
