Job description

Overview

Housing Support Worker

Croydon | Full Time | 37.5 Hours | Permanent

Every person deserves the opportunity to build a future with stability, hope and opportunity.

For people who do not currently have safe or stable accommodation, everyday life can bring significant challenges. Finding somewhere secure to live, accessing healthcare, rebuilding confidence, navigating services and creating positive opportunities for the future can feel overwhelming without the right support.

At Change Grow Live, we believe that everyone has the potential to make positive and lasting changes in their lives. We don't define people by their circumstances. Instead, we focus on strengths, resilience and the opportunities that help people move forward.

We're looking for a Housing Support Worker to join our Croydon team and support people experiencing housing instability to access accommodation, improve their wellbeing and build greater stability and independence.

If you're someone who believes in the power of relationships, takes a person-centred approach and wants to make a genuine difference every day, we'd love to hear from you.

Why this role matters

Housing challenges rarely exist in isolation.

People accessing our services may also be navigating physical health concerns, mental health needs, substance use, trauma, social isolation, financial hardship or other barriers that impact their ability to maintain safe and stable accommodation.

That's why holistic, person-centred support matters.

As a Housing Support Worker, you'll work alongside individuals to understand what matters most to them, helping them identify goals, build on their strengths and access the support they need to create positive change.

You'll provide compassionate, strengths-based support that helps people feel empowered, connected and in control of their future. Whether supporting someone to secure accommodation, access treatment, improve their wellbeing, develop independent living skills or reconnect with their community, you'll play an important role in helping people achieve sustainable and positive outcomes.

Because when people are given the support, opportunity and encouragement to thrive, meaningful change becomes possible.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to be part of a dedicated service that supports people facing complex housing challenges to achieve greater stability and independence.

Working across Croydon and within the wider community, you'll build trusted relationships with people who may not always feel able to engage with traditional services. You'll take the time to listen, understand and develop support plans that reflect each person's unique circumstances, strengths and aspirations.

You'll work flexibly and creatively, helping people navigate challenges while opening doors to new opportunities. Some days that may involve supporting someone to access accommodation, healthcare services or specialist support. Other days might focus on advocacy, wellbeing, benefits, tenancy sustainment, life skills development or helping someone reconnect with education, employment, training, family or community networks.

You'll work as part of a multidisciplinary team and collaborate with local authorities, housing providers, healthcare professionals, social care services, safeguarding teams and community partners to ensure people receive coordinated and effective support.

This is a role where you'll see the difference your work makes. Not only in outcomes, but in confidence gained, opportunities created and futures transformed.
