Job summary

Waythrough, a charity formed in 2024 by the merger of Humankind and Richmond Fellowship, supports around 125,000 people across nearly 200 services in England. We’re seeking a permanent Housing Support worker in Darlington to help service users secure and maintain accommodation, with safeguarding and ongoing professional development.

You will deliver risk and support assessments, manage a caseload, and work with local authorities to enable safe, independent living.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) or willingness to work towards it.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programmes.
  • Knowledge of housing options available and relevant legislation.

Responsibilities

  • Support clients to live independently in their own accommodation and progress towards sustained independent living.
  • Manage a caseload of adults 25+ with housing-related needs, providing person-centred support.
  • Complete comprehensive support and risk assessments reflecting individual needs.
  • Provide practical housing support, including referrals and signposting to relevant services.
  • Participate in drop-in service supporting adults 18+ with housing challenges.
  • Collaborate with other housing providers and local authorities.

Salary: £25,877.80 -£32,090

About the Role

To work as part of a team to deliver support packages to help service users secure and maintain accommodation.

Manage a caseload as allocated by the Service manager and complete high quality and comprehensive risk and support asessments for each indivudual we support

Ensure that vulnerable people are protected through knowledge and application of Adult Safeguarding procedures, undertake continuing professional develpment including participating in performance reviews and attend trainin as and when required

What You'll Do

  • Manage a caseload of adults aged 25+ with house-related needs, providing person-centred support
  • Complete comprehensive support and risk assessments ensuring these reflect individual needs
  • Provide practical housing support, including referrals and signposting to relevant services to help people overcome barriers and maintain their accommodation.
  • Participate in our drop-in service supporting adults 18+ with a range of housing related challenges
  • Work collaboratively with other housing providers and local authorities.
To Succeed in This Role, You'll Need:
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or above or equivalent) or willing to work towards this in post.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programmes
  • Knowledge of housing options available and relevant legislation.
