Housing Strategy Manager

We are seeking a Housing Strategy Manager to play a key role in shaping and executing strategic improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and departments.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Leading and supporting the delivery of critical housing projects.
• Producing and presenting high-quality reports to the Leadership Team.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams on strategic projects and initiatives.
• Monitoring and evaluating the performance of strategic initiatives and making necessary adjustments.
• Providing strategic guidance to senior leadership.
• Preparing reports and presentations to communicate progress and plans.
• Staying informed on housing strategy trends and best practices to support decision-making and service transformation.
• Managing political processes and ensuring clear communication with elected members and senior officers.
• Coordinating resources for external inspections and acting as a key contact during inspections.

Requirements:

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with proficiency in presentations.
• Experience in managing staff, including recruitment, development, and performance management.
• Knowledge of external inspection frameworks impacting Housing Services and experience managing or supporting inspections.
• Proven ability to work in cross-functional project teams and deliver high standards.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with staff, colleagues, elected members, and external organizations.
• Understanding of local authority governance, decision-making, scrutiny, and performance reporting.
• Enhanced DBS check within the last 12 months or willingness to obtain one.
