Job summary

BCHA in Plymouth is seeking a Housing Sustainment Advisor to support residents under the Intensive Housing Management service. The role is based on-site across Plymouth and focuses on helping customers maintain their homes and sustain tenancies.

You will work with Housing Officers and partner teams to deliver practical support, regular visits, budgeting help, and coordinated repairs, aiming to improve housing stability and independence for service users.

Responsibilities

• Regular home visits to review accommodation, assess progress and agree next steps
• Guide residents on maintaining safe, clean, well-kept homes
• Coordinate repairs, contractor access and essential services
• Support budgeting, income maximisation and charity applications
• Help customers bid for social housing and liaise with landlords
• Carry out needs and risk assessments
• Identify safeguarding concerns and coordinate referrals
• Work collaboratively with Housing Officers, social care, mental health teams, health services and external agencies
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to case discussions and reviews
• Take a person-centred, strengths-based approach to empower customers
