Job summary

Maidstone Borough Council is seeking two Housing Advice Officers to join the Housing & Inclusion Team in Maidstone. You will handle a caseload, provide advice on housing options, and work from Trinity House with flexible agile working and a 37-hour week on a permanent contract.

The role requires knowledge of housing legislation, strong communication and IT skills, and a focus on helping vulnerable clients to resolve homelessness risks.

Qualifications

• Sound knowledge of Part 7 of the Housing Act 1996 (as amended).
• Experience of interviewing clients or front-facing housing work.
• Ability to empathise and assess housing circumstances.

Responsibilities

• Manage own caseload and assess housing needs for clients.
• Provide advice on housing options to retain or secure accommodation.
• Demonstrate empathy and develop personalised housing plans.
• Participate in out-of-hours on-call rota for housing matters.
