The London Borough of Newham is seeking a Housing Advisor to help prevent homelessness by providing tailored housing advice, advocacy and mediation. You will assess housing needs, develop Personal Housing Plans and work with partners to achieve positive outcomes for vulnerable residents.

You will manage a varied caseload, make informed decisions in line with housing and welfare legislation, and contribute to service improvements within the Homelessness Prevention & Advice Service.

Qualifications

• Experience providing housing advice and homelessness prevention services.
• Strong understanding of homelessness and housing legislation.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.

Responsabilités

• Prevent homelessness through tailored housing advice, advocacy, negotiation and mediation.
• Assess housing needs of individuals and families in complex circumstances.
• Develop Personal Housing Plans and review them with customers.
• Issue statutory decisions and maintain accurate case records.
• Undertake home visits and collaborate with partners to achieve positive outcomes.
