Job summary

Wokingham Borough Council is seeking a proactive finance and administration professional to support repairs, compliance and investment programmes within the Housing Service. You will manage contractor payments, monitor budgets and produce performance information to ensure value for money.

Based at Shute End, this permanent, full-time role offers flexible hours and a generous benefits package, including substantial annual leave, helplines and wellbeing support. The closing date is 28 October 2026.

Qualifications

• Experience in finance, invoicing, budget monitoring or contract administration.
• Strong analytical and organisational skills.
• Confident working with data.
• Committed to excellent customer service.
• Able to build positive working relationships with colleagues, contractors and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Process and monitor invoices, and payments relating to repairs maintenance and asset management activities.
• Support monthly budget monitoring processes and assist in producing financial reports, forecasts and performance information.
• Assist with the administrative of the responsive repairs service responding to enquiries from contractors, suppliers, residents and internal stakeholders
• Work collaboratively across the Housing Service and wider council departments.
