Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited is seeking a Policy & Performance Officer to support housing policy, strategy and performance management for the Local Authority in Epping, Essex. This 6 month contract focuses on Local Supported Housing Strategy development and ensuring regulatory compliance.

You will lead research, analyse housing data, engage stakeholders and translate findings into practical policy recommendations, with strong MS Office skills and a solid public sector background.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in a Local Authority, Housing Association, Registered Social Landlord (RSL) or similar public sector environment.
• Strong understanding of housing policy, housing services and local government.
• Experience producing reports, briefings and presentations for senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of the Local Supported Housing Strategy.
• Ensure compliance with the Supported Housing (Regulatory Oversight) Act 2023.
• Conduct housing needs analysis and strategic research.
• Review housing supply, demand and demographic trends.
• Develop evidence-based policy recommendations and strategic plans.
• Support the review and development of housing policies and strategies.
• Ensure housing policies reflect current legislation, guidance and best practice.
• Contribute to service planning and corporate strategy development.
