Job summary

Adecco Public Sector is recruiting a Housing Options Officer for a local authority in Solihull. The role is full-time (37 hours) on a temporary contract for 3 months with a high likelihood of extension, and involves frontline homelessness work including interviews and case management.

You will assess housing needs, advise clients, carry out duties under homelessness legislation, and participate in a duty rota requiring in-office presence twice weekly to maintain service standards.

Qualifications

• Experience handling homelessness cases under guidance.
• Knowledge of the Homelessness Reduction Act.
• Strong IT and administrative skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct homelessness interviews and assess housing needs.
• Process homeless applications under Housing Act Part VII.
• Provide tailored housing advice and assist clients to secure accommodation.
• Maintain caseloads and work with a team of officers.
• Visit clients in their homes if required.
