About The Role

Role: Housing Options Officer
Location: Civic Centre, Leyland
Contract:Full time (36.25 hours per week) / Permanent
Salary: £33,366 - £36,124
Closing Date: 21 May 2025

Our Housing Options Team is looking to appoint a pro-active, enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to work as a Housing Options Officer in our busy fast paced housing department.

Each day is different and if you are the kind of person who relishes a challenge and is focused on achieving the best results for customers then this could be the job for you.

What you’ll be getting up to
  • You’ll be working with customers who often present with multiple and complex needs and as such you will attend a variety of multi-agency meetings and forums, working in partnership with voluntary and statutory agencies to find the best housing solutions.
  • You will be responsible for a range of functions, primarily relating to the prevention and relief of homelessness.
Who we’re looking for
  • You should have a good knowledge of the causes and implications of homelessness and have an understanding of current legislation.
  • The ability to work with a range of partners and have effective communication skills. Someone who can work creatively towards finding housing solutions for our customers is vital.
  • You will need to work at least one full day per week in the office to participate in the duty assessment rota.
Otherrequirements
  • This role requires some travel around our boroughs. You should have a valid driving licence or the equivalent mobility.
  • Successful applicants will be subject to a DBS check (applied and paid for by the Council).
