This is a fast-paced and varied role where you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference to people's lives. You'll support residents to sustain their tenancies, resolve housing issues, maximise their income and access the help they need, while helping us create safe, thriving communities across Denbighshire and Conwy.

What's in it for you?
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, rising to 30 days after 5 years' service
  • Option to buy or sell annual leave
  • Up to 8% pension contribution
  • Professional development and learning opportunities
  • Work for an organisation recognised for Mental Health & Wellbeing
  • Vivup benefits platform and discounts
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • A role with real purpose and impact
About The Role

As a Housing Officer, you'll manage a diverse caseload of residents, delivering a high-quality housing management service that puts customers at the heart of everything we do. You'll be responsible for supporting tenancy sustainment, managing rent accounts, maintaining positive neighbourhoods and helping residents overcome challenges that may affect their housing.

No two days are the same. One day you may be supporting a resident with welfare benefits or resolving a neighbourhood issue, while the next you could be undertaking estate inspections, attending multi-agency meetings or helping a new resident settle into their home.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Managing a portfolio of homes and building positive relationships with residents.
  • Supporting tenancy sustainment and helping residents achieve successful outcomes.
  • Managing rent accounts and minimising arrears through early intervention and support.
  • Providing advice on housing-related matters, including welfare benefits and neighbourhood issues.
  • Conducting property and estate inspections to maintain standards and identify improvements.
  • Investigating and resolving anti-social behaviour and community concerns.
  • Working collaboratively with external agencies and partner organisations.
  • Supporting the allocation and letting of homes.
  • Promoting resident engagement and community involvement.
  • Maintaining accurate records and performance information.
  • Ensuring services are delivered in line with legislation, policy and regulatory requirements.
About You

We're looking for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic environment and is passionate about delivering excellent services to residents.

You will be someone who:

  • Embodies our values of Trust, Kindness and Hope.
  • Builds positive relationships and communicates effectively with a wide range of people.
  • Takes a proactive and solution-focused approach to challenges.
  • Is organised and able to manage competing priorities.
  • Works confidently on their own initiative while contributing to team success.
  • Demonstrates empathy, professionalism and sound judgement.
  • Enjoys finding solutions and working collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies.
  • Is committed to delivering excellent customer service.
What You'll Bring

We're particularly interested in candidates who have:

  • Experience working in a frontline housing management role.
  • Knowledge of housing legislation, tenancy management and welfare benefits.
  • Experience managing a varied caseload and prioritising workloads effectively.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Experience supporting residents through sensitive or challenging situations.
  • Experience working with external agencies and partner organisations.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and housing management systems.
  • The ability to travel across Denbighshire and Conwy as required.

A relevant housing qualification, such as CIH Level 3 or equivalent, would be advantageous. However, we recognise that housing management is a broad role and welcome applications from candidates who may have experience in some areas and are keen to develop in others.
