Now is an exciting time to join SYMCA's Housing and Infrastructure Team. As an Established Mayoral Strategic Authority (EMSA) with a devolved housing growth budget and a robust regional housing pipeline, we are ready to deliver on SYMCA's housing growth ambitions and the Government's drive for everyone to have a secure home.

Reporting directly to the Housing Growth Manager, you will:

  • - Provide project management support for the development of business cases for public sector investment in new housing growth schemes.

Interviews are expected to take place Monday 14 September.

About the role

As a Housing Growth Policy Officer, you will support the Housing and Infrastructure Team to deliver housing growth across South Yorkshire. Working with local authorities, Homes England, developers and other partners, you will help develop business cases, support housing growth programmes, and contribute to the delivery of strategic housing priorities.

You will provide policy advice, develop evidence and insight, prepare briefings and reports for senior stakeholders, and support the development of SYMCA's Housing Strategy. You will also help maintain strong partnerships across the region, ensuring housing growth activity aligns with wider priorities around regeneration, transport, skills and economic growth.

About you

You will bring:

  • An in-depth working knowledge of housing policy.

  • An understanding of housing growth policy areas and devolution.

  • Good project management skills.

  • Experience and an appetite for partnership and collaborative working, both internally and externally.

You will be a strong communicator with excellent analytical skills and the ability to work across a range of stakeholders. Organised and proactive, you will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and be passionate about supporting the delivery of new homes and sustainable growth across South Yorkshire.
