Job summary

The Wallich in Wales is looking for a Housing Support Worker to coordinate a flexible, person-centred outreach service under Housing First principles. You will engage with service users facing mental health challenges, helping them access services, build resilience and sustainable tenancies.

Role requires a Driving Licence and access to your own vehicle, an Enhanced DBS disclosure, and availability to work a 37.5 hour rota including occasional weekends.

Hours of Work:

37.5 hours per week on a rota, usually Monday - Friday 09:00-17:00 with one weekend in three.

Purpose of Role

Responsibility for coordinating and providing a flexible person centred, solution focused service, applying an assertive engagement and positive risk-taking approach, in line with Housing First principles. Within legal, moral and ethical boundaries, Housing First provision focuses on the long-term goal of creating sustainable tenancies and maximising connectivity with the local community. This role will work in an outreach capacity with those service users who may primarily need support with their mental health, enabling service users to access the services and interventions they need to build their resilience, gain confidence, reduce harm and acquire the personal and social skills they need to meet their aspirations.
