Job summary

Luton Borough Council is seeking an Allocations & Lettings Officer to join the Temporary Accommodation Allocations & Lettings Team within the Housing Needs Service. You will place homeless households into interim and temporary accommodation and make nominations under Section 193, ensuring efficient allocation and close cooperation with providers.

You will work both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team, handle challenging enquiries with clear advice, and use IT tools like Word,

Qualifications

• Excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Strong IT skills: Word, Excel, databases and electronic communications.
• Level 3 qualification in Housing Services/Practices or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Place homeless households into suitable interim and temporary accommodation.
• Make nominations under Section 193.
• Coordinate placements with temporary accommodation providers.
• Build strong relationships with providers and ensure a smooth service for those in need.
