Job summary

Royal Trinity Hospice in London is seeking a part-time Housekeeping Operative/Cleaner on a permanent contract. 18.75 hours/week on a rota, weekends and bank holidays. Salary £28,871 pro rata.

You will support the House Keeping Supervisor delivering cleaning across clinical areas and the whole Hospice, maintaining high standards and assisting with stock management. The role requires building strong relationships with patients, visitors and staff, knowledge of safety regulations, and adherence to

Qualifications

• Develop and maintain effective relationships with patients, relatives, visitors and staff.
• Apply cleaning expertise to ensure tasks are completed to high standards.
• Be aware of COSHH, Infection Control and Health & Safety regulations.
• Coordinate with Inpatient Unit staff for clinical room sign-off.
• Adhere to hospice policies and statutory regulations for IPU areas.
• Recognise NHS Agenda for Change terms for leave and sickness payments.

Salary: Mulberry PayScale, Grade Ash £28,871 pa (pro rata of this for part time hours)

Hours: Part time, 18.75 hours per week, worked 5 days out of 7 on a rota basis (Including weekends and bank holidays)

We have an exciting opportunity for an exceptional individual to join our facilities team as a part time housekeeping operative / cleaner

Responsibilities of the Housekeeping Operative/Cleaner

As the House Keeping Operative you will assist the House Keeping Supervisor by undertaking a wide range of cleaning duties to meet the Hospice requirements, monitored outcomes and high standards within all clinical areas and within the whole Hospice wide setting.

Always maintain a high standard of cleanliness and assisting with stock management.

Skills and experience required

• Develop and maintain effective relationships with all, ensuring House Keeping have a positive, friendly, and efficient service is delivered to patients and their relatives, visitors, and staff responding promptly to complaints and queries.
• Use expertise in Cleaning to ensure that tasks are effectively carried out.
• Be aware of regulations applicable to work, in particular Control of Substances Hazardous to Health, Infection Control and Health and Safety
• Work with the Inpatient Unit staff to ensure that Inpatient Unit rooms obtain clinical sign off
• Ensure adherence to all hospice policies and statutory regulations relating to the safe and hygienic operation of the IPU areas
• We match Agenda for Change/NHS terms and conditions for maternity, paternity and long-term sickness pay
• Length of service for those joining directly from another CQC regulated organisation (NHS, social care, hospice) is recognised in annual leave, maternity, paternity and long-term sickness pay
