Job summary

Keech Hospice in Luton is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper for a 20-hour-per-week role on-site. The position involves four shifts across seven days, including one weekend every four weeks, with hours from 7.15am to 12.30pm.

You will maintain a warm, calm, and clean environment for patients, their families, and staff, ensuring high standards of hygiene and an inclusive, supportive workplace. DBS check may be required.

• Experience in a similar housekeeping role is preferred.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and presentation throughout the hospice.
• Communicate with patients, relatives, staff and volunteers to provide a responsive service.
• Follow infection control procedures and COSHH guidelines when using cleaning products.
• Replenish towels and consumables; assist with safe disposal of waste.
• Complete daily, weekly and monthly housekeeping schedules with accurate records.

Job description

At Keech Hospice, we believe that the spaces we create can have a huge impact on the well-being of our patients. We are looking for a dedicated Housekeeper to join our compassionate team and help maintain a warm, calm and clean environment for our patients, their families, and our staff. Your role will be vital in ensuring that the hospice always reflects the high standards of care we provide.

This role offers 20 hours per week, 4 shifts per week over 7 days (including 1 weekend in 4). The hours of work are 7.15am to 12.30pm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation throughout all areas of the hospice
• Communicating with patients, relatives, staff, and volunteers to provide a responsive service
• Following infection control procedures and adhering to COSHH guidelines when using cleaning products
• Replenish hand towels/laundry and other consumables
• Assisting in the correct handling and disposal of clinical waste and rubbish
• Complete daily, weekly and monthly housekeeping schedules and ensuring accurate record-keeping
