Bedford Borough Council is seeking a part-time cleaner to maintain hygiene across a care home. The role involves cleaning all areas, handling laundry, and following strict infection control and COSHH procedures.
Shifts are 3 per week, 5 hours each, including every other weekend. The closing date is 25 September 2026, with interviews on 13 October 2026. Enhanced DBS requirements apply, and visa sponsorship is not available.
The successful applicant will ensure all areas of the care home are kept clean, using appropriate cleaning processes and in line with health and safety, COSHH and Infection control procedures, and launder and care for residents clothing and all other linens with in the home.
You should have good written & verbal communication skills, and an awareness of Infection Control, Health and Safety, and COHSS (Control of substances hazardous to health).
The shift pattern would be 1 weekday a week + 1 full weekend every other week. These are 5-hour shifts usually from 8:30am until 1:30pm, although we can have some flexibility around starting/finishing times for this post by agreement.
