Job summary

Bedford Borough Council is seeking a part-time Housekeeping & Laundry Assistant to join the team at Southway Residential Home. The successful applicant will keep all areas of the home clean and tidy, follow cleaning processes in line with health and safety, COSHH and infection control, and launder residents' clothing and linens.

Shifts include 1 weekday per week and 1 full weekend every other week, typically 5 hours from 8:30am to 1:30pm, with some flexibility by agreement.

Job description

We are currently seeking a Housekeeping & Laundry Assistant to join our team on a Part Time basis at Southway Residential Home.

The successful applicant will ensure all areas of the care home are kept clean, using appropriate cleaning processes and in line with health and safety, COSHH and Infection control procedures, and launder and care for residents clothing and all other linens with in the home.

You should have good written & verbal communication skills, and an awareness of Infection Control, Health and Safety, and COHSS (Control of substances hazardous to health).

The shift pattern would be 1 weekday a week + 1 full weekend every other week. These are 5-hour shifts usually from 8:30am until 1:30pm, although we can have some flexibility around starting/finishing times for this post by agreement.
