MAIN SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

The Floor Supervisor will be responsible for maintaining guest rooms, working areas, and the hotel premises in a clean and orderly manner. They will also coordinate daily housekeeping operations and uphold the housekeeping standards across all shifts, including early, evening, and office coordinator duties. Additionally, the role involves delivering excellent guest service.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the performance of room attendants, house porters, and linen porters.
  • Supervise room attendants.
  • Organize and facilitate the room cleaning process.
  • Allocate rooms and deep cleaning tasks daily to team members.
  • Ensure all housekeeping staff have arrived or find substitutes for absent employees.
  • Prepare and distribute the room assignment sheet and floor keys to room attendants.
  • Maintain cleanliness of guest rooms, corridors, and pantries.
  • Check occupied and departure rooms, paying attention to guest needs.
  • Manage guest requests, including VIP amenities, and communicate them to relevant team members.
  • Inspect guest bedrooms to ensure they meet standards.
  • Be aware of all room categories and amenities.
  • Respond to guest requests promptly and efficiently.
  • Handle lost property according to correct procedures.
  • Report maintenance issues to the maintenance department.
  • Conduct on-the-job training and assist other departments as necessary, maintaining good working relationships.
  • Work flexible hours according to the departmental rota.
  • Protect guest and colleague security by maintaining confidentiality.
  • Have knowledge of room types, facilities, and guest services within the hotel.
  • Perform any other reasonable requests as directed by the head housekeeper.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Provide friendly, courteous, and professional service at all times.
  • Basic computer operating skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in a busy, customer-oriented environment with a keen eye for detail, ensuring high standards are maintained and exceeded daily.
  • Previous experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
  • Committed to delivering high levels of customer service.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Flexibility to respond to various work situations.
