The University of Nottingham is seeking enthusiastic Housekeeping Assistants to support our Halls of Residence at University Park. You will help maintain bedrooms, bathrooms and public areas to a high standard, delivering excellent customer service during busy service times.
The role offers a permanent contract with part-time hours (16 or 26.25 per week) and weekend work, with 15% weekend pay uplift and a pro-rated schedule for term holidays. Full training is provided.
£25,353 to £26,379 per annum based on a 36.25-hour contract / pro rata if applicable. Posts are initially offered at the minimum salary point £13.45 per hour, with progression to the higher salary point, £13.99 per hour through annual incremental pay rise.

We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable, and hardworking people, who have a keen eye for detail and aim to deliver the exceptional operational standards required particularly at busy service times. Working within our Halls of Residence at University Park Campus, main duties will include the cleaning of bedrooms, bathrooms and other public areas including all touch points to a high standard providing excellent customer service at all times.
Tasks will involve the manipulation of furniture, making beds and the removal of rubbish in a working environment which can be demanding. Previous cleaning experience and ability to work independently and as part of a team is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
16 or 26.25 hours per week, 5 days out of 7 to be arranged to include regular weekends working between the hours of 9:00am and 3:00pm. These positions are offered on a permanent basis, working throughout the full calendar year, 52-weeks of the year (including outside of term and student vacation periods) while also are eligible to an additional 15% pay allowance for hours worked in weekends.
Due to a range of functions, conference and business needs, successful candidates are required to work in term time either 1 in 3 or 1 in 4 weekends and during summer regular weekends. Further details will be given at the interview.
The successful candidates for these positions will be expected to attend statutory training courses and any refresher training required by the department. There are planned training courses throughout the year during a typical week, Monday to Friday or on a set weekend dates within the year.
The interviews for these posts are informal and will take no longer than 20 minutes.
