Job summary

Sue Ryder is looking for dedicated Housekeeping Assistants to join our team and help provide exceptional care for patients, families and staff. You will contribute to a clean, safe and welcoming environment in our hospices and community sites.

Experience in healthcare cleaning is preferred, with the ability to follow infection control procedures and safety protocols. This role covers locations including Reading, Berkshire West and surrounding areas, with bank hours paid at £13.09 per hour.

• Experience providing cleaning services in a healthcare or similar setting.
• Ability to follow infection control procedures and safety protocols with flexibility.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to supporting a safe, accessible, and dignified environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the highest standard of cleanliness across the service, including laundry.
• Respond to incidents requiring quick, discreet cleaning.
• Safe storage and use of chemicals.
• Record information in line with health and safety and compliance.

Sue Ryder's Housekeeping staff play a critical role in the operation of our hospices, contributing to the comfort, safety, and dignity of patients and their families. This is a great opportunity to join our fantastic team of housekeeping assistants who together enable a clean, tidy and welcoming environment for both the service users and their visitors. Duties include but are not limited to:

• Maintaining the highest possible standard of cleanliness throughout the service including the laundry
• Responding to incidents that require quick, professional and discreet assistance with regards to cleaning.
• Safe storage and use of chemicals
• To record all information required in line with Health and safety, compliance

Our ideal candidate will have experience as housekeeper in a care or hospital setting and will have the knowledge to be able to work on their own initiative as well as working collaboratively as part of a wider team.

Essential Minimum Criteria:
