Another Place, The Lake, nestled by Ullswater in the Lake District, is seeking a Housekeeping Assistant. You will help maintain immaculate bedrooms, suites and public areas, ensuring guests feel at home from arrival.

Qualifications

• Experience in housekeeping in a similar role is required.
• Able to work weekends as part of the shift pattern.
• Strong attention to detail and reliable performance in a hotel.

Responsibilities

• Work through allocated bedrooms and suites in good time.
• Ensure guests find clean, inviting accommodation.
• Sign keys in and out daily following procedures.
• Keep corridors outside rooms clean and clutter-free.
• Maintain tidy linen cupboards and linen presentation.
• Follow health and safety, manual handling and COSHH rules.
• Assist and train new team members when needed.
• Collaborate with the team to stay efficient and positive.

OurHousekeeping Assistant role:

Housekeeping is at the heart of our guest experience at The Lake. Our team ensures that every bedroom, suite, and shared space is immaculately prepared, clean, and inviting, so that our guests feel at home from the moment they arrive.

As our Housekeeping Assistant, you’ll take pride in the details, from perfectly made beds and spotless bathrooms, to ensuring all amenities are in place and linen is beautifully presented.

In this role, you’ll be essential to the smooth running of the hotel, supporting a polished environment for every guest. You’ll coordinate with colleagues to manage workloads efficiently, follow health and safety standards, and contribute to a team culture built on mutual support, respect, and excellence.

As our Housekeeping Assistant you’ll be:

• Working through your allocated bedrooms and suites in good time.
• Making sure guests always find clean and inviting accommodation.
• Following our procedures for signing keys in and out daily.
• Keeping all corridors outside rooms clean and clutter-free.
• Making sure linen cupboards stay clean and tidy.
• Following all health and safety, manual handling and COSHH procedures.
• Giving new team members a helping hand and supporting their training and development.
• Working together as part of our committed, efficient and dynamic team.

The skills you’ll be sharing with us:

• A strong guest focus
• Availability for working on weekends
• Experience of housekeeping in a similar role
• Ability to work under your own supervision and initiative, as well as part of a team
• Excellent attention to detail
• Excellent time management skills
• Previous experience in housekeeping or a related role
