Job summary

Floryn House Care Home is seeking a Housekeeping Assistant to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment and to support laundry services. This role involves cleaning residents' rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, and ensuring clothes are labelled and handled with care.

You will work closely with the team, adhering to infection control procedures and health and safety guidelines. The position requires alternating weekend work and offers a supportive working environment within Care Concern

Qualifications

• A positive and reliable approach.
• Good attention to detail and organisation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Understanding of hygiene and infection control is beneficial.
• Previous experience is welcomed but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Clean residents’ rooms, bathrooms and communal areas to a high standard of hygiene and presentation.
• Support laundry duties including washing, drying, ironing and returning clothing, with items clearly labelled.
• Follow infection control, health and safety and housekeeping procedures, ensuring tasks are carried out safely.
• Work alternate weekends as required.

Our brand new, purpose-built facility situated in the beautiful village of Yarnton, Oxfordshire, provides exemplary Residential, Dementia, Nursing & Respite care for 73-residents.

Housekeeping Assistant Contract

• £12.71 per hour
• Contracted to 37.5 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Housekeeping Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment while also supporting laundry services. This is a varied, hands on role where your attention to detail and high standards will directly impact comfort, dignity and daily wellbeing.

You will be responsible for cleaning residents’ rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, ensuring all spaces are maintained to a high standard of hygiene and presentation. Alongside this, you will support laundry duties including washing, drying, ironing and returning clothing correctly, ensuring all items are clearly labelled and handled with care.

Working closely with the wider team, you will follow infection control, health and safety and housekeeping procedures, ensuring all tasks are carried out safely and efficiently. Your role will contribute to a well organised and comfortable environment where individuals feel respected and supported. The successful candidate will be required to work alternate weekends.
