Job summary

Harrier Grange Care Home, part of Care Concern Group, is seeking a Housekeeping Assistant to help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment and support laundry services.

You will clean residents' rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, ensure high hygiene standards, and handle washing, drying and ironing with clearly labelled items. The role is 36 hours per week at £12.71 per hour, with paid breaks, DBS and pension contributions, uniform provided and 5.6 weeks annual leave.

Qualifications

• Good attention to detail and organisation
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication skills
• Understanding of hygiene and infection control is beneficial
• Previous experience is welcomed but not essential

Responsibilities

• Clean residents’ rooms, bathrooms and communal areas to a high standard of hygiene and presentation.
• Support laundry duties including washing, drying, ironing and returning clothing, ensuring items are clearly labelled.
• Follow infection control, health and safety, and housekeeping procedures to perform tasks safely and efficiently.
• Contribute to a well organised and comfortable environment where residents feel respected and supported.

Our private care facility in Hampshire offers Residential, Dementia, Nursing, and Respite Care, providing an enriched and fulfilling lifestyle for up to 66-residents in a warm and supportive environment.

Housekeeping Assistant Contract

• £12.71 per hour
• Contracted to 36 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided, paid breaks
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Housekeeping Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment while also supporting laundry services. This is a varied, hands on role where your attention to detail and high standards will directly impact comfort, dignity and daily wellbeing.

You will be responsible for cleaning residents’ rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, ensuring all spaces are maintained to a high standard of hygiene and presentation. Alongside this, you will support laundry duties including washing, drying, ironing and returning clothing correctly, ensuring all items are clearly labelled and handled with care.

Working closely with the wider team, you will follow infection control, health and safety and housekeeping procedures, ensuring all tasks are carried out safely and efficiently. Your role will contribute to a well organised and comfortable environment where individuals feel respected and supported.
