Job summary

Larchwood Care Home in Braintree, Essex is seeking a dedicated Housekeeping Assistant to keep our home clean, safe and welcoming. You will clean residents' rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, assist with laundry and ensure high hygiene standards are met.

Working with the wider team, you will follow infection control procedures, support daily wellbeing, and contribute to a comfortable environment where Residents feel respected.

Qualifications

• A positive and reliable approach.
• Good attention to detail and organization.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Understanding of hygiene and infection control is beneficial.
• Previous experience is welcomed but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Clean residents’ rooms, bathrooms and communal areas to a high standard of hygiene and presentation.
• Support laundry duties including washing, drying, ironing and returning clothes with clear labels.
• Follow infection control, health and safety and housekeeping procedures to ensure safe operations.

About Larchwood Care Home

Housekeeping Assistant Contract

• £14.80 to £15.30 per hour
• Full time is available
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Housekeeping Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment while also supporting laundry services. This is a varied, hands on role where your attention to detail and high standards will directly impact comfort, dignity and daily wellbeing.
You will be responsible for cleaning residents’ rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, ensuring all spaces are maintained to a high standard of hygiene and presentation. Alongside this, you will support laundry duties including washing, drying, ironing and returning clothing correctly, ensuring all items are clearly labelled and handled with care.
Working closely with the wider team, you will follow infection control, health and safety and housekeeping procedures, ensuring all tasks are carried out safely and efficiently. Your role will contribute to a well organised and comfortable environment where individuals feel respected and supported.
