Job summary

Larchwood Care Home in Braintree is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to guide and support a care team and deliver high-quality, person-centred care. You will oversee medication administration, monitor residents’ wellbeing and maintain accurate records, ensuring safe, compassionate support through night shifts.

The role requires NVQ2 in Health & Social Care (minimum) with Level 3 preferred, and strong communication and leadership abilities.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), with Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards
• Medication administration training with competency is essential
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial

Senior Care Assistant Contract

• £15.70 to £16.30 per hour
• Contracted to 44 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents. Must be able to work night shifts.

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.

You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.
