Cowbridge Residential Care Home in Lostwithiel, Cornwall is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to join our domestic team. You will help maintain a clean, hygienic and welcoming environment for our residents, delivering care with a warm, person-centred approach.

The role focuses on cleaning, laundry tasks, and creating a comfortable home that supports residents' dignity and wellbeing. The post offers a supportive team and flexible working with weekend and bank holiday enhancements.

Qualifications

• Naturally kind and compassionate person with a caring approach.
• High attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Strong communication with residents and colleagues.
• Experience in housekeeping or cleaning is preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Dusting and polishing furniture and fixtures.
• Cleaning and sanitising bathrooms, sinks and surfaces.
• Making beds and changing linens.
• Using cleaning tools such as vacuums and mops effectively.
• Keeping bathrooms stocked with toiletries and towels.
• Cleaning mirrors and communal areas.
• Tidying residents' rooms and refreshing spaces.
• Monitoring and ordering cleaning supplies as required.
• Reporting repairs or maintenance promptly.
• Assisting with laundry duties and ensuring cleanliness throughout the home.
• Interacting positively with residents and contributing to a welcoming home.

Job Purpose

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Dusting and polishing furniture and fixtures
• Cleaning and sanitising bathrooms, sinks, and countertops
• Making beds and changing linens
• Using cleaning tools such as vacuums, mops, and cloths effectively
• Keeping bathrooms stocked with toiletries and fresh towels
• Cleaning mirrors, glass surfaces, and communal areas
• Tidying and refreshing residents' rooms
• Monitoring and ordering cleaning supplies as required
• Reporting repairs or maintenance issues promptly
• Assisting in laundry duties and ensuring cleanliness throughout the home
• Interacting positively with residents - joining conversations, offering a smile, and contributing to their sense of home

Requirements

• Naturally kind, caring, and compassionate
• Highly motivated with great attention to detail
• Able to work independently and manage tasks efficiently
• Comfortable communicating with residents and colleagues
• Experience in housekeeping or cleaning preferred, but not essential
• Willingness to work in both cleaning and laundry areas of the home

Payrate

• £12.80 per hour
• £16.00 per hour (Weekends)
• £25.60 per hour (Bank Holidays)
