Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a Housekeeper (GxP) in Macclesfield to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene within GMP/GxP environments. The role supports laboratory areas, handles waste, and ensures regulatory compliance. Full-time, permanent with 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 07:00–15:00.

Qualifications

• Experience in a regulated GMP/GxP environment is desirable, but full training will be provided.
• Highly organised and attentive to detail.
• Comfortable working to strict procedures and regulatory standards.
• Customer-focused with good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Clean floors, sinks, and lab areas; maintain hygiene in GMP/GxP zones.
• Dispose of general waste and manage cleaning supplies.
• Follow SOPs and COSHH requirements at all times.
• Complete accurate cleaning records and report issues or deviations.
• Wear appropriate PPE and follow health, safety, and infection-control procedures.
• Maintain stock of sterile garments and ensure plant operators have access.
• Identify and report equipment or operational issues to supervisors.
• Complete required training to meet compliance standards.

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeper (GxP) to join our team in Macclesfield, supporting high standards of cleanliness and hygiene within regulated GMP/GxP environments.

What you'll do:

• Cleaning of floors, Sinks, Handwashing Stations and Scientific sinks in laboratory areas
• General Waste disposal
• Glass cleaning, cleaning doors, dusting.
• Cleaning of corridors
• Replacing consumable items (soap, hand towels etc)
• Cleaning of office spaces and toilet areas
• Follow GMP/GxP regulations, SOPs and COSHH requirements at all times.
• Complete accurate cleaning records and report any issues, deviations or equipment faults.
• Ensure appropriate PPE is worn and all health, safety, security and infection-control procedures are followed.
• Maintain strong professional relationships with customers and respond to any concerns promptly.
• Ensure sterile garments and pyjamas are fully stocked and available for plant operators, following strict procedures and dress standards.
• Identify and report any equipment or operational issues promptly to the relevant supervisor or manager.
• Complete all required training to maintain the required standards of compliance.

What you'll bring:

• Previous experience in a regulated environment is desirable, but full training will be provided where required.
• Highly organised and attentive to detail.
• Comfortable working to strict procedures and regulatory standards.
• Customer-focused with good communication skills.
• Knowledgeable or willing to learn about GMP/GxP and COSHH requirements.
