Job summary

Care South's Fairlawn in Ferndown is seeking a Housekeeper to join our residential and dementia care team. You will help keep residents' rooms and communal areas clean, tidy and safe, contributing to a warm, inviting atmosphere for everyone who uses the home.

No prior care home experience is required; a real passion for creating a fresh and welcoming environment is essential. Flexible hours and weekend cover are available, with training and support provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in a care home is not required but an ability to create a welcoming environment is essential.
• A real desire to keep residents, staff and visitors comfortable and safe.

Responsibilities

• Keep the home clean, safe and comfortable for residents.
• Assist with cleaning communal areas and residents' rooms.
• Support the laundry team with washing, drying and ironing of residents' clothing.
• Follow COSHH regulations and use of cleaning products safely.
• Work as part of the team to maintain a welcoming atmosphere.

Shifts: Mon - Fri 08.30 to 14.30 across the week

Shifts :Sat - Sun 08.30 to 14.30 & 11.30 to 18.00hrs cover on one of the weekend days.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Housekeeper to join the team at Fairlawn, our residential and dementia care home situated in the heart of the Ferndown community.

What you will be doing:

• Ensuring our home is kept clean, safe and comfortable throughout for our residents
• Supporting with the cleaning of communal areas and residents own rooms
• Provide some support to the laundry team to include washing, drying and ironing of residents clothing
• Comply with all policies and procedures, including COSHH regulations, with regard to cleaning products and use of chemicals.
• Work as a team player to create and maintain a co-operative, friendly and welcoming atmosphere within the home.

Who are we looking for:

Previous experience within a care home setting is not essential – but we want you to come in and enjoy housekeeping!

A real desire to create a fresh and welcoming environment for residents, staff and visitors to enjoy.

Flexible in the hours that you work and happy to join in as part of a larger housekeeping team.
