We're recruiting for a hands-on Hotel Operations Manager to join a busy hospitality venue in Southampton. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident, people-focused leader who enjoys overseeing day-to-day operations, developing teams and ensuring guests receive an exceptional experience. Working closely with the senior management team and departmental heads, you'll play a key role in maintaining high standards, improving operational performance and supporting the overall success of the business.

The Role

As Hotel Operations Manager, you'll oversee the smooth running of daily operations, providing visible leadership across departments and ensuring service standards, compliance and commercial objectives are consistently achieved.

Key responsibilities:

• Overseeing day-to-day hotel operations and supporting departmental managers.
• Leading, motivating and developing teams to deliver excellent service.
• Maintaining high standards of guest experience, cleanliness, presentation and maintenance.
• Managing guest complaints and resolving issues professionally.
• Monitoring operational performance, labour costs, stock control and departmental efficiency.
• Supporting revenue, profitability and wider business objectives.
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety, food hygiene, fire safety and company procedures.
• Coordinating operations for busy trading periods, functions and events.
• Supporting recruitment, training, employee development and performance management.
• Providing senior operational cover when required and supporting other sites within the wider business.

AboutYou

We're looking for a proactive and commercially aware manager with a strong background in hotel operations or senior hospitality management.

You’ll ideally have:

• Proven experience in a hotel operations management or senior hospitality management role.
• Experience working across multiple departments and supporting departmental heads.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate teams and drive standards.
• Excellent guest service and complaint-handling skills.
• Commercial awareness, including labour control, budgets and operational performance.
• A good understanding of health and safety and hospitality compliance.
• Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• A hands-on, approachable management style and the confidence to make decisions.
