Dakota Hotel, based in South Queensferry, is seeking a reliable and proactive individual who enjoys working alone to join our Front of House Team as a Night Porter.

CONTRACT AND PAY RATE

Earnings are £12.21 per hour, paid weekly, with a minimum guaranteed gross annual salary of £24,127.

The role offers a permanent contract of at least 38 hours per week. Shifts typically include any 4 days out of 7, including weekends. Hours vary between 10pm-8am or 11pm-7am.

PRIMARY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Set up meeting and event spaces for conferences and private dinners, ensuring spaces are clean and welcoming according to guest needs.
2. Perform deep cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, dusting, polishing, and mopping, especially in public areas.
3. Collaborate with other departments, especially Reception, to ensure excellent communication and assist as needed, including delivering room service, taking items to guest bedrooms, and answering calls.
4. Serve as Fire Warden during emergencies and be trained to assist with fire evacuation procedures.
5. Follow health and safety procedures, particularly regarding waste handling and manual handling.
6. Maintain knowledge of safe chemical handling and best practices for upkeep of hotel areas.
