Job summary

The Lion Inn, Boreham, is seeking an experienced Hotel Receptionist to join a busy Essex venue. You will manage guest check-ins/outs, reservations, and payments, while delivering warm hospitality across the hotel, restaurant and events spaces.

Ideal candidates have hotel reception experience, strong MS 365 skills, and a keen eye for detail. You will work shifts across 7 days, including weekends, with a supportive team and opportunities to develop within a premium brand.

Qualifications

• Previous hotel reception experience within a busy hospitality environment.
• Experience using a Hotel PMS, preferably Rezlynx.
• Experience using EPOS systems and processing guest payments.
• MS 365 skills (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Exceptional grammar, spelling and punctuation in guest correspondence.
• Experience handling reservations, guest enquiries and telephone bookings.
• Confident managing payments, deposits and guest accounts accurately.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Managing guest check-ins and check-outs.
• Taking hotel reservations via telephone, email and online channels.
• Responding promptly and professionally to guest enquiries.
• Processing payments, deposits and guest accounts.
• Sending booking confirmations and pre-arrival communications.
• Managing guest requests and resolving issues proactively.
• Maintaining accurate reservation and guest information in Rezlynx.
• Supporting the wider business to deliver outstanding guest experiences.
• Assisting with breakfast service during morning shifts.
• Working with restaurant, bar and events teams to ensure seamless guest journeys.
