Job summary

JW Recruitment Pty is seeking an experienced Financial Controller for a hotel operation in the United Kingdom. The role requires hands-on, commercially focused finance leadership and the ability to partner with the General Manager and leadership team to drive profitability.

The candidate will oversee all accounting, budgeting, forecasting and reporting, while ensuring robust controls and compliance. A strong hotel finance background and professional accounting qualification are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience as Hotel Financial Controller or senior hotel finance position.
• Recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) would be beneficial.
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of hotel revenue streams, departmental profitability and operational costs.
• Excellent budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting skills.
• Confident working with a General Manager and challenging operational decisions where necessary.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the hotel's finance function, including management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
• Work closely with the General Manager and senior leadership team to maximise revenue, control costs and improve profitability.
• Produce accurate monthly management accounts, forecasts and financial analysis.
• Manage cash flow, payroll, balance sheet reconciliations and financial compliance.
• Identify commercial opportunities and provide financial guidance to operational departments.
• Lead, develop and motivate the finance team.
• Ensure strong internal controls, financial procedures and compliance with company standards.
