Job summary

The Commercial Hotel in the United Kingdom seeks a Financial Controller to lead the finance team and align financial strategy with the group plan. You will oversee management accounts, budgeting, cashflow, VAT, and statutory reporting, while partnering with senior stakeholders.

Fully qualified or part-qualified accountants are welcome; expertise in Excel and Copilot is desirable. The role offers clear progression toward professional qualification and strong cross-department collaboration.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified or part-qualified accountant with a path to full qualification (ACCA/CIMA/ICAS).
• Strong Excel and analytical skills with experience in budgeting and cashflow monitoring.
• Commercially aware with ability to partner across departments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the production of management information including monthly P&Ls, balance sheet and weekly sales analysis.
• Lead budgeting and in-year forecasting, including capex/opex plans and cashflow monitoring.
• Manage payroll and accounting staff; oversee intercompany reconciliations and charity accounts reporting.
• Support external auditors during statutory accounts preparation and ensure VAT compliance across entities.
• Provide sound financial guidance to other departments and act as first point of contact for finance.
