Job Description:

Zedwell Capsule Hostel is a bold and innovative hospitality concept located in the heart of Piccadilly Circus. With 990 capsules and direct Underground access, it offers guests a unique, minimalist, and restful stay in one of London’s busiest and most iconic locations.

Now partially open and continuing to grow, Zedwell combines smart design, operational efficiency, and a guest experience rooted in simplicity and well-being.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic, hands-on General Manager to lead the ongoing operations and development of this flagship property. You will be responsible for driving performance, enhancing the guest journey, and ensuring operational excellence as we scale up and optimise the full potential of the hostel.

This is a rare opportunity to take charge of one of the UK’s largest hostels, delivering high-volume operations while shaping a unique accommodation and F&B offering in the heart of central London.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Lead, inspire, and support a large operational team. Oversee recruitment, development, and performance management to maintain a positive culture and high service standards.
  • Operational Management: Oversee all day-to-day operations across front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, and F&B. Ensure a seamless, efficient, and guest-focused environment.
  • Food & Beverage Oversight: Lead and grow the F&B operation, including café, bar, or self-service offerings. Focus on quality, profitability, and compliance with food safety and licensing regulations.
  • Guest Experience: Maintain consistently high levels of guest satisfaction. Respond to feedback and lead initiatives to enhance the overall stay.
  • Commercial Focus: Manage budgets, control costs, and drive revenue across all departments, including F&B. Monitor KPIs and implement performance improvements.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure full compliance with all legal and safety requirements, including food hygiene, fire safety, and building regulations.
  • Business Growth: Collaborate with senior management on commercial strategy, local partnerships, and initiatives to build brand presence and community engagement.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience managing large hostels or hotels (300+ beds), ideally with experience in scaling or post-opening operations.
  • Strong leadership and operational skills in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in F&B management, including menu development, budgeting, and quality control.
  • A guest-first mindset with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Financial acumen and a results-driven approach.
  • A hands-on, adaptable, and collaborative management style.
  • Passion for hospitality, innovation, and creating memorable experiences.

Why Join Zedwell?

  • Lead a standout property in one of London's most iconic locations.
  • Play a key role in shaping and growing a pioneering capsule hospitality concept.
  • Drive innovation in F&B and guest services within a high-profile site.
  • Be part of a supportive, fast-moving hospitality team with strong growth potential.
  • Access to long-term development opportunities within an ambitious and expanding brand.
