Job summary

BrisDoc is seeking a Driver/Host hybrid to transport clinicians to patients' homes and to provide front-of-house reception. The role includes keeping the vehicle ready, loading equipment, and assisting patients throughout their visit, with a focus on safety and patient experience.

The position combines driving duties with patient-facing responsibilities in a healthcare setting, requiring at least GCSE level education and a full driving licence with up to 3 points.

Qualifications

• A good standard of education to GCSE or equivalent.
• Full Driving Licence with no more than 3 points.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the car has adequate fuel for the shift and refuel with the company fuel card when needed.
• Safely load and unload medical equipment and supplies in the vehicle, following manual handling guidelines.
• Complete the drivers checklist at the start of each shift and verify equipment is available and functional.
• Maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of the vehicles and report faults to the Shift Manager.
• Drive the clinician to patients' homes, obeying Highway Code and road regulations (not an emergency service).
• Accurately record all visit call details and return Driver Log sheets to base at end of shift.
• Deliver supplies, prescriptions, or medications between sites as requested by the Shift Manager.
• Host duties include front-of-house reception, welcoming patients and supporting them through their patient journey, answering calls, and accurate record keeping.

DRIVERTo primarily transport clinicians to the homes of patients in order to provide medical assistance. The post holder will also be responsible for the maintenance of the vehicle during each shift. At all times drivers must carry out duties in a safe and legal manner ensuring that all vehicles are maintained and driven within current driving regulations and codes, principally the Road Traffic Act and Highway Code.

HOSTThe purpose of this role is to provide a front of house reception service at Brisdoc's treatment centres and promote high standards of patient experience. The main responsibilities include: welcoming patients on arrival and supporting them through their patient journey in the service; answering internal phone calls within the agreed BrisDoc standards and recording all necessary information accurately for other team members to use; performing accurate record keeping and all other front line reception duties as required.

Main duties of the job

• Ensuring the car has adequate fuel for the shift. When necessary, re-fuelling the car using the company fuel card.
• Responsibility for safely loading and unloading the appropriate medical equipment and supplies in the vehicle that may be required by the mobile clinician and driver, whilst adhering to all manual handling guidelines.
• Completing the drivers check list at the start of each shift ensuring all necessary equipment/supplies are available and functional in the car.
• Maintaining the cleanliness and general upkeep of the vehicles and report any faults immediately to the Shift Manager and completing the fault notification sheet.
• To drive the clinician to patients' homes / place of residence safely and within the current road and traffic act regulations noting that this is not an emergency service and speed limits and laws in accordance with the Highway Code must be followed at all times.
• Accurately recording all call details of visits, returning all Driver Log sheets to base at end of shift.
• Driving deliveries to other destinations at the request of the Shift Manager. This may include delivering supplies, prescriptions, medication, etc between sites.
