Host Manager: Brand New Opening (Village Hotel Sheffield)

There is nothing quite like the buzz of opening a brand new hotel. Everything is immaculate, fresh, and completely untouched. We are opening Village Hotel Sheffield, and we need an exceptional Host Manager to take total ownership of our front-of-house and lobby experience from day zero.

Just to be crystal clear on timelines: we are moving fast. Interviews are happening week commencing 16th November. You will officially start with us in January, well before the doors open, giving you the time and space to set up your operation, train your team, and test your systems before the very first guest checks in.

Your Remit: How You Will Run It

You are not inheriting someone else's tired systems or inherited problems. You are building this guest journey from scratch. You are the ultimate mood-setter, transforming our lobby into a vibrant, welcoming hub. Managing arrivals is about far more than just processing check-ins; it is about blending the speed of our modern check-in technology with genuine, human connection.

To make this opening a massive success, here is exactly how you will need to sequence your focus:

• First: The Pre-Opening Setup & The Team. Starting in January, you are recruiting your own front-of-house superstars. You will hire, train, and coach your Host Team from the ground up, embedding service standards, running tech walkthroughs, and instilling a culture of warmth, high energy, and mutual support before launch day.
• Second: The Commercial Reality & Standards. You will take full command of the numbers from the outset. You will balance wage costs with brand standards, audit daily discrepancies, and drive proactive upselling across the desk to push your team toward crucial Average Daily Rate (ADR) and 100% Club Fill targets.
• Third: The Floor & The Experience. Once the doors open, you are the pace-setter. You will lead high-energy shift briefings, read the room, and resolve guest queries and complaints on the spot with emotional intelligence and flair. You will ensure check-out is the flawless final touch that turns first-time visitors into lifelong Village advocates.
