Job summary

San Carlo Group's Fumo Covent Garden location is seeking a Host to warmly welcome guests and manage seating and reservations. You will play a key role in delivering an exceptional guest experience through timely service and smooth front-of-house operations.

The role emphasizes strong communication, organisation, and the ability to handle busy periods with professionalism. Training is provided, and you will be part of a renowned UK Italian dining family.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail, highly organised and capable of handling multiple tasks.
• A proactive self-starter who can work independently with good judgement and minimal direction.

Responsibilities

• Greeting guests as they enter the restaurant and welcoming them.
• Managing the restaurant's waiting list and seating guests promptly and efficiently.
• Maintaining an organized and tidy front of house area, including the hostess stand, waiting area, and restrooms.
• Answering phone calls and managing reservations.
• Answering guest inquiries about the restaurant's menu, special promotions, or other services offered.
• Collaborating with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery of food and beverages.
• Keeping track of table turnover and communicating table availability to servers.
• Handling any customer complaints or issues in a courteous and professional manner.
• Maintaining accurate records of guest counts and reservations.
