The role requires practical kitchen/catering experience, teamwork, and knowledge of Health & Safety at Work, with qualifications at Level 2 or higher and English/Maths GCSEs. ILT skills are advantageous.

  • Level 2 English and Maths GCSE (4+ / C or above) or equivalent.
  • Desirable: Level 3+ qualification in relevant subject area or equivalent.
  • Practical industrial kitchen/catering experience.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Awareness of Health & Safety at Work.
  • Experience using ILT skills.

Job Title

Technician - Hospitality (18.5 Hours per week - 40 weeks of the year)

Role Overview

As a Technician, you'll be supporting the curriculum delivery in Hospitality across Kitchens and Restaurant. You will ensure that everything is up to a safe operational state and prepare all class-related materials efficiently and effectively. You will also be keeping track of stock and maintaining them to make sure that all relevant courses run smoothly.

  • Maintaining all Kitchens equipment and reporting anything to the technician supervisor where needed
  • Adhering to Health and Safety Regulations
  • Keeping stock at a reasonable level and reordering from suppliers where needed
  • Maintaining and cleaning kitchens
Essential Qualifications
  • Education to level 2 or above and/or a professional qualification in relevant subject area or equivalent
  • Minimum of Level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics GCSE 4+ or C and above / CSE Level 1 / O-Level C or above / Level 2 Adult Numeracy or Literacy or equivalent
Desirable Qualifications
  • Education to level 3 or above and/or a professional qualification in relevant subject area or equivalent
Essential Experience
  • Practical industrial experience within a commercial kitchen/catering trade
  • Experience with working effectively as part of a team
  • Awareness of Health & Safety at Work and related issues
  • Good experience in using ILT skills
