About the role

As a Partner on our service counters, you'll have the opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge and passion for food while ensuring it is ethically sourced and recommending recipes to customers. You'll bring our ethos — passionate Partners serving food lovers — to life.

You will use your enthusiasm and friendliness to build lasting relationships with customers, positively influencing their impression of the Waitrose brand and fostering loyalty. Additionally, you will help maximize sales and profit.

Key Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for your food counter, maintaining high presentation and hygiene standards.
• Manage stock levels to ensure popular products are available.
• Handle open food carefully, following all health & safety protocols and reducing wastage.
• Stay informed about new products and understand Waitrose's food values, such as animal welfare.
• Support the wider team with general shopkeeping tasks when needed.

Essential skills/experience

• Effective communication skills for teamwork and customer interaction.

Desirable skills/experience

• Experience in a customer-facing role.
• Experience in catering or hospitality.
• Interest and knowledge of food and drink trends.
• Flexible approach to support the branch.

Working hours

Part-time, 16.75 hours per week: Monday 16:00-20:00, Tuesday 14:00-20:00, Saturday 12:00-20:00.
