Job summary

BaxterStorey in Reading, United Kingdom, is hiring a friendly Hospitality Assistant to join our team. You will deliver warm, professional service, take orders, serve meals and beverages, and help maintain a clean, welcoming environment for guests.

This part-time role offers 24 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, with a pay rate of £12.71 per hour. You will work in a dynamic hospitality setting within client spaces, focusing on guest experience and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Proven customer service experience in a hospitality or similar environment
• Strong people skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and colleagues
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, pressurised environment
• Flexibility and willingness to work varied shift patterns, including evenings and weekends
• Reliable time keeping and a professional approach to work
• Basic knowledge of food hygiene and health and safety practices
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
• Problem-solving mindset with a customer-focused approach
• Desirable: Previous experience in a hospitality or catering setting
• Desirable: Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations

Responsibilities

• Assist with food and beverage service, including taking orders, serving meals and drinks, and clearing tables efficiently
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation throughout service areas
• Support the preparation and presentation of food and beverages in accordance with company standards
• Respond promptly and empathetically to guest requests and concerns, resolving issues where possible
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth operations during service periods
• Adhere to health, safety, and food hygiene regulations at all times
• Assist with stock management, restocking supplies, and maintaining inventory as required
• Adapt flexibly to changing priorities and shift patterns as required by the business

Salary: £12.71 per hour 24 hours per week Monday to Thursday
