Job summary

Buckfast Abbey in Buckfastleigh is seeking an Events Assistant Apprentice to join our Food & Beverage team. You’ll earn £10.10 per hour while learning on the job and studying towards a Level 2 Food & Beverage Team Member apprenticeship.

No previous hospitality experience is required—just a positive attitude, reliability and willingness to learn. 40 hours per week over 5 days, including weekdays and weekends.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at minimum Grade 3 (preferable)
• Willingness to learn and friendly attitude
• Good communication and teamwork
• Able to work in a busy hospitality environment

Responsibilities

• Serve food and drinks to customers
• Prepare and deliver refreshments
• Provide excellent customer service at all times
• Handle payments and operate tills
• Take bookings and respond to enquiries
• Support day-to-day hospitality operations
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to deliver service
• Ensure dining areas are clean and welcoming
• Promote products and maximise sales
