Job summary

Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Environmental Services Porter to support waste collection operations across the Trust. You will assist the Team Leader and Deputy Environmental Services Manager, handling dirty and infected laundry, cardboard, sharps and clinical wastes in line with current legislation.

The role requires the ability to work unsupervised on shift, communicate by radio, and adapt to a busy industrial environment while maintaining a customer-focused

Qualifications

• Good numeric and literary skills.
• Holds a full driving licence.
• Able to communicate effectively using radio.
• Good front of house skills.

• Flexible with shift patterns.
• Experience in an industrial environment is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing an efficient waste collection service for all wastes generated from the Trust.
• Collect and transport all types of waste in a busy environment as directed.
• Communicate with Ward Management and report non-conformances.
• Respond to radio requests and relay information to Radio Controller.
• Ensure collections from waste storage areas follow schedules and policies.
