Job summary

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Waste Porter for Basildon Hospital. The role covers clinical, domestic and recyclable waste across site and requires a reliable, physically fit individual with flexible shifts.

You will work as part of a small team, following Trust policies and procedures to ensure efficient waste management and confidentiality at all times. This is a full-time post at 37.5 hours per week with a salary of £25,272 per annum.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a service environment.
• Ability to organise and prioritise work to deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Provide refuse collection for clinical, domestic, glass, paper and recycling waste across the trust.
• Collect clinical waste and domestic waste to the waste compound, compact as required.
• Collect cardboard, glass and confidential paper waste for disposal.
• Cover annual holidays and sickness to maintain portering services.
• Operate in line with Trust policies and ensure confidentiality.
