Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Environmental Services Porter to support the waste management team. The role involves assisting with the collection and transportation of clinical and general wastes, laundry, and recyclables, following schedules and ensuring compliance with current legislation.

A 12-week probation applies for new starters, with rights to work considerations. Candidates should be able to work unsupervised on shifts and communicate via radio.

Qualifications

• Good numeric and literary skills.
• Hold full driving license.
• NHS or hospital/work environment experience desirable.
• Experience in industrial environment is beneficial.
• Be able to communicate effectively using radio.

Responsabilités

• Assist in providing an efficient waste collection service for all wastes generated from the Trust.
• Assist in delivering the Collection Schedules including laundry, cardboard, sharps, biohazard or hazardous waste.
• Collect and transport all types of waste in a busy environment with a customer-focused approach.
• Report non-conformances to the Team Leader and communicate with Ward Management as required.
• Respond to radio-generated collections in a timely manner and update the Radio Controller.
