Job summary

University Hospitals Dorset in Bournemouth is seeking a Band 3 retail catering supervisor to ensure high standards of food service and customer care within UHD's retail restaurant outlets. The role will support staff training and contribute to the rollout of a new catering food court replacing Oasis at RBH in mid-2027.

The post is full-time (37.5 hours/week) with a salary of £25,760–£27,476 per annum. Interview date is 29 October 2026, and staff may cover evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as

Qualifications

• GCSE grade 4-9 (A* to C).
• NVQ level 3 / equivalent related catering field.
• Experience of working within an NHS environment.
• Previous supervisory experience including managing staff (1+ year).
• Experience in delivering training to new and existing staff.
• Knowledge of Food Safety, Allergens and Health & Safety policies.
• LV2 Food Safety and Allergens training.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the day to day running of the retail restaurant outlets.
• Train new starters and ongoing refresher training.
• Maintain hygienic conditions and high cleaning standards.
• Manage freshness, date coding and replenishment of items.
• Monitor allergen controls in line with policies.
• Plan, record and complete daily tasks; support peak periods.
